Lane Closures on 2 St SW to Force Multi-route Detour
Beginning Monday, May 14, utility work on 2 St SW will reduce the roadway to one lane in each direction in two areas between 6 Ave SW and 16 Ave SW. This will result in relocated stops and several detours in the area of St Marys Hospital, as well as the likelihood for system-wide delays. RPT has made the following adjustments to reduce, to the greatest extent possible, the impact of these lane closures on travel times.
Routes 1D, 3D, and 4D will pick up at Virgil’s and head east to Downtown. Routes 6D, 9, 12, 12M, 15D, 18D, and 19 will leave downtown, go north on 11 Ave SW stopping at Virgil’s (just north of 2 St SW on 11 Ave SW), and use Civic Center Dr NW to get on US-52/US-14, resuming the regular route path from there (except Rt. 9, which will resume its regular path at Civic Center Dr NW). Inbound, these routes will come to downtown via Civic Center Dr and 11 Ave SW. On the inbound trip, Rt. 4D and 17 will terminate at the 11 Ave SW stop.
South routes 7, 7A, and 14 will leave downtown, turn south on 6 Ave SW, turn west on 4 St SW, turn south on 10 Ave SW, and then use 6 St SW to resume their regular paths.
Routes 1N, 7N, 8, 12N, 23, 24, and 25 are not planned to detour at this time. Any of these routes, Route 8 in particular, could experience delays. Changing conditions during construction may force these routes onto detours.
