Filing dates
8 am to 5 pm, (Dates undetermined at present) in person at the City Clerk's office, City Hall, 201 4th Street SE, Rochester MN 55904
Withdrawal of candidacy
If a person files for an office, and later decides to withdraw from candidacy, an affidavit of withdrawal of candidacy must be filed in the City Clerk's Office no later than 5 pm on (date undetermined at present).

Qualifications for Councilmember at large:
- Must be a resident of the city of Rochester for at least 30 days prior to filing for candidacy for the office.*
- Must be a qualified voter in the State of Minnesota*
Qualifications for 2nd, 4th or 6th ward Councilmember:
- Must be a resident of the ward for which the person is running for at least 30 days prior to filing for candidacy for the office.*
- Must be a qualified voter in the State of Minnesota*
Dates of Election:
Primary: September 9, 2008
General: November 4, 2008
Term of office:
4 years*
