When do I need to get a license for my pet (cat/dog/ferret)?

Animals should be licensed when they are 4-6 months old; at that time they usually get their rabies shot.

What is the cost of an animal license?

If the animal is NOT spayed or neutered, it costs $12.00 per year.
If the animal is spayed or neutered, then it costs $8.00 per year.

Senior Citizen fees:
If the owner is 65 or over, then the fees are as follows:
If the animal is NOT spayed or neutered, it costs $8.00 per year.
If the animal is spayed or neutered, then it costs $6.00 per year.

What if I lose the tag?

If you lose the city license tag, you can get a duplicate from our office for $1.00.  We will look up the record in our computer files and issue a new tag which will be good for the remainder of the license period.
