Fire Stations

Fire Station #1

Fire Station #1 is located at the same site as the 1930 station, the 500 block of South Broadway. It was completed in September 1995 by Weis Construction at a cost of $2,569,000.00. Funds for the new fire station, a new city hall, and a new library were raised by a .5% city sales tax authorized by the state legislature in 1992. The 24,000 square foot building, designed by Winsor Faricy, won the Committee on Urban Enviroment Award for new construction. The design incorporated original terra cotta tiles removed from the exterior of the old station, into the front and rear exterior walls and into the brick flagpole base. The original fire poles from the 1898 fire station were re-installed and are in use in this third consecutive station. Fire Station One houses Engine11, Truck12, Car2, Rescue1, Boat1, Tanker1 & Grass Fire Truck1.

Fire Station #2

Fire Station #2 is located adjacent to Silver Lake on Seventh Street NE. It was built in 1954 and houses Engine21, backup Engine23 & the Fire Department mechanics vehicle.

Fire Station #3

Fire Station #5
