HR Mission Statement

The Human Resources Department mission is to be champions of leadership and change resulting in an engaged workforce.

HR Functions/Objectives

  1. Provide administrative oversight for policy development, payroll and compensation, recruitment and selection, benefits and safety, legal compliance and reporting, and human resources information systems. 
  2. Provide strategic direction and implementation guidelines for HR processes and organizational development initiatives. 
  3. Provide consultative HR services and assistance to City leadership. 
  4. Lead respectful negotiations and maintain collaborative relationships with collective bargaining groups within the City. 
  5. Assist with and seek acceptable resolutions for employee relations, issues, grievances, mediations, and arbitrations. 
  6. Maximize the utilization of technology to increase performance and efficiency in applicable HR practices and processes. 
  7. Create and implement professional development opportunities that contribute to a high-caliber workforce capable of providing quality services to an increasingly diverse community.
