The Commission of the International Affairs Committee was established on October 2, 1980.    

1. Coordinating international affairs and information in the City.   
2. Forum for international residents.  
3. Support and encourage international consciousness in the community.
4. Establish city as a member of national center for international center for international visitors.   
5. Develop the “sister city” concept.
