Outdoor Pools and Beach
Summer outdoor swimming in 2008 can be enjoyed at Silver Lake, Soldiers Field Pool and Foster Arend Lake. Beginning June 7, Soldiers Field Pool and Foster Arend Lake will be open daily, weather permitting, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Silver Lake Pool will open on June 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come and try out the awesome 112-foot Water Slide at Soldiers Field Pool. This impressive water slide joins the drop slide and the zero depth pool, making Soldiers Field Pool the place to be in 2008.
Lap swim is held at Silver Lake only from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Fee Information
Daily Fees for Pools: Youth - $3.00 Adult - $4.00
Foster Arend Beach: Free - No Lifeguards on duty at beach.
10 Tickets: Adult / Youth - $25.00
Tickets will be on sale at the pool beginning June 7. Users of the zero depth pool at Soldiers Field will be charged the daily fee.
General Water Information
The pool closes if the air temperature is below 70 degrees. If the air temperature drops below 70 degrees at 5:00 p.m. and attendance is 10 paid admissions or less, the pool will close. If the pool is not open by 3:00 p.m. due to weather conditions, it will not open that day.
Foster Arend Beach has no lifeguards on duty. The Park and Recreation Department encourages the "buddy" system when enjoying the beach. Parents are responsible for their children.
Pool Parties
The zero depth pool at Soldiers Field may be reserved for parties from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday thru Friday at a cost of $100.00 per hour. The cost includes a lifeguard. Contact the pool manager to make reservations.
