Bookmark & ShareSummer outdoor swimming in 2009 can be enjoyed at Silver Lake, Soldiers Field Pool and Foster Arend Lake. Beginning May 23, Foster Arend Beach will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. through Labor Day. Soldiers Field Pool will be open daily, weather permitting, starting June 10 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Silver Lake Pool will open on June 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come and try out the awesome 112-foot Water Slide at Soldiers Field Pool. This impressive water slide joins the drop slide and the zero depth pool, making Soldiers Field Pool the place to be in 2009.
Fee Information
Daily Fees for Pools: Youth - $3.00 Adult - $4.00
Foster Arend Beach: Free - No Lifeguards on duty at beach.
10 Tickets: Adult / Youth - $25.00
Tickets will be on sale at the pools beginning June 10. Users of the zero depth pool at Soldiers Field will be charged the daily fee. Users of the kiddie pool at Silver Lake will be charged a fee of $2.00 per family.
General Water Information
The pool closes if the air temperature is below 70 degrees. If the air temperature drops below 70 degrees at 5:00 p.m. and attendance is 10 paid admissions or less, the pool will close. If the pool is not open by 3:00 p.m. due to weather conditions, it will not open that day.
Foster Arend Beach has no lifeguards on duty. The Park and Recreation Department encourages the "buddy" system when enjoying the beach. Parents are responsible for their children.
The beach hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The beach will be closed from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 and from Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5.
The following regulations will be enforced at Foster Arend this swimming season:
- No swimming outside designated swimming area.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed in the entire park.
- No smoking in beach area.
- No glass containers in beach area.
- No dogs in beach area.
- The park will close at 9:00 p.m. nightly and the parking lot gates locked.
Pool Parties
The zero depth pool at Soldiers Field may be reserved for parties from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday thru Friday at a cost of $110.00 per hour. The cost includes a lifeguard. Contact the Soldiers Field pool manager to make reservations.
