Dear Rochester Area Golfers: Welcome to the 2010 golf year! Hopefully you had a great holiday season and we can all look forward to spring and our best golf season ever. 2010 brings us a huge change in the golf division with the retirement of Mr. Jake Manahan. Jake started back at Northern Hills in the 70’s back during its inception. Mr. Manahan has been the pillar of golf and professionalism at Northern Hills and throughout the City of Rochester. Jake’s retirement brings the golf division a new look in staff at each of the four facilities. Mr. David Richardson will oversee Soldiers’ Field with his Assistant Doug Martin. David will also be responsible for Hadley Creek along with Northern Hills former Assistant Bill (Watty) Watson. Jeff Gorman will direct the staff at Eastwood Golf Club along with his Assistant Ryan Bakken. Jeff will also oversee Northern Hills with Assistant Golf Professional Mike Manahan. This change in personnel will work because of the quality assistant golf professionals we have in the City of Rochester. Eastwood, Northern Hills and Soldiers’ Field will thrive in 2010 especially with the support of its long time members, well supported Ladies and Men’s clubs/leagues, junior golf camps, couples events, growing scheduled tournaments and events. Now that Eastwood’s New Nine Holes and Hadley Creek Golf Learning Center are becoming well-established this has also contributed to the success of the cities golfing facilities. The City of Rochester does have four of the finest golf facilities under one umbrella which are affordable and arguably one of the finest golf operations in the state. We are committed to gain your golfing dollar with well stocked golf shops, wonderful practice facilities, professional and courteous staff to assist you and your families and friends to make 2010 your best golf experience ever!
