A Challenge to Others

We dare you… We dare other public safety agencies to experiment. Try to beat us. If you succeed, please let us know. Maybe we can learn from your ideas. We hope our ideas will be useful to you. There is always more than one right way to do things. There will be circumstances that would make the Rochester method less than ideal for other communities. Still, it behooves all of us to experiment in hopes of improving service to the public. The more innovation, the better. Rochester is not a large community and yet we have achieved significant success. We know that larger communities will be able to save many more lives.

There are no excuses for not doing this. The typical concerns that create imaginary barriers include cost, training issues, administrative overhead, fear of liability and getting officers to accept the idea. Hopefully the information here has debunked those myths.

If you accept this challenge or want to make one to us, please let me know. Please contact me at: sjohnston@ci.rochester.mn.us
