Early Defibrillation
Survivor Map
This map Takes a few moments to load. It shows the general locations of most of the successful rescues within the City of Rochester and Olmsted County. This map is a work in progress. As of the most recent update there were about 130 markers on two pages of the map (scroll to bottom of right navigation pane on the map for page 2). If it was complete it would have more than 230 markers on it. Some of the data behind this map was not carefully tracked years ago. Reconstructing this information is tedious. It is by no means complete. Some of the rescues occurred prior to the launch of our "study" or "program" in 1991. Some of the victims were not found in ventricular fibrillation but all of these rescues are related to cardiac arrest and/or CPR and/or defibrillation. The pin markers on the map are not in the exact location if the cardiac arrest occurred in the home. It is intended to be set at an intersection closest to the incident. This was done to respect the privacy of the individual patients.
