October 3, 2025 – ROCHESTER, MINN – On Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7, sections of the Cascade Lake Trail will be closed due to maintenance. Planned work involves filling cracks in the trail surface to smooth the path and enhance the walking and biking experience.  

The closure will occur in sections at a time, starting on the east end of the trail near the Highway 52 underpass. Work is expected to proceed westward along the north side of Cascade Lake to West Circle Drive as well as the south side of the lake behind the West Transit Village construction site. This work will prevent use of the full trail loop during this time.

Maintenance will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday to allow repair materials to properly cure. The trail will reopen Monday evening before a new section is closed on Tuesday. Full access to the trail is expected to be restored by Wednesday, October 8, weather permitting.

Advance signage will be posted along the trail to notify users.
