UPDATE: The closing of the bridge crossing in Essex Park (5455 West River Road NW) for resurfacing repairs has been extended through Tuesday, November 4, 2025, weather permitting

The bridge closure began Tuesday, October 21.

The work will help prevent future storm damage and maintain the safety and integrity of the bridge.

During this time, the bridge will be closed to all pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Visitors are encouraged to use alternate routes.
