Help Shape the New City of Rochester and Rochester Public Library Websites

Post Date:12/01/2025

The City of Rochester and the Rochester Public Library are redesigning their public websites and inviting community members to share feedback through a short online activity open December 1-14.

The activity takes just a few minutes and asks participants where they would expect to find certain types of information on a website. This input will help the City and Library organize content, improve navigation and create a more user-friendly online experience for all residents and visitors.

The redesigned City of Rochester website will make it easier to find information, access City services and move across departments and service areas. It will feature:

  • Improved menus and clearer navigation

  • Simplified, easy-to-understand language

  • A modern, visually appealing design

  • Full WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance

The updated Rochester Public Library website will provide easier access to services, events, digital resources and account tools. Planned improvements include:

  • Clearer organization of books, programs and events

  • Enhanced access to digital resources and research tools

  • A modern design that works across all devices

  • Accessibility improvements for all users

Community members can participate in one or both online activities:

Both redesigned websites are scheduled to launch in late March 2026, offering a more streamlined, accessible and engaging experience for the Rochester community.
