Where: Intersection of Broadway Avenue and Center Street
When: Beginning Monday, October 15, 2018 through the end of November, weather permitting

On Monday, October 15, 2018, work will begin on the traffic signals at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Center Street. Aspects of the project include: replacement of the signal cabinet in the SE corner of the intersection with a new cabinet in the SW corner, relocation of the signal pole in the SE corner, and installation of audible pedestrian push buttons.

A southbound lane closure on Broadway Avenue (in addition to the closures that are already in place) is required to facilitate this work. Moving the cabinet requires re-wiring of the entire intersection. The intersection will operate as an all-way stop while the rewiring is going on. Sidewalk ramps at this intersection will also be replaced as part of this project. Sidewalk detours will be posted for pedestrians.

Update:  Center Street will be closed to the west of the intersection. The Center Street Parking Ramp will retain access from 1st Avenue West; there will be no access to the ramp off Broadway.

This new closure should not have any new impact on the current bus routes. Visit www.rptride.com for complete route and schedule information.

Pedestrians and drivers are advised to find alternate routes and use caution while traveling around and through all construction zones.
