NEWS RELEASE: North Broadway Reconstruction Project Open House

On June 4, 2018, the Rochester City Council selected “Option 2C” to move into the final design phase. This design includes two lanes in each direction, left-turn lanes, a one-way protected cycle track on each side of Broadway, sidewalks, and in-lane bus stops. The public is invited to attend an open house for the Broadway Ave Reconstruction Project to learn about final design updates, construction staging options, and assessments.

Project Purpose
The City of Rochester is in the final design phase for a 2019 reconstruction of North Broadway Avenue from Civic Center Drive to 13th Street. The project will address aging pavement, safety, and begin the transformation of Broadway Avenue into a significant multi-modal gateway to Downtown Rochester that accommodates all roadway users.

 

Project Schedule

  • 2017: Planning/Preliminary Design – Define WHAT to build
  • 2018: Final Design & Construction Documents – Define HOW to build it
  • 2019: Final Design Continues & Construction Begins
