City of Rochester Welcomes Michon Rogers as Mayor’s Executive Assistant
The City of Rochester is pleased to announce the appointment of Michon Rogers as the Mayor’s Executive Assistant. The appointment comes with the retirement of Donna Bussell who served in the role for over 17 years.
The Mayor’s Executive Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring a strong connection between the Mayor’s office and the community. This includes coordination of day-to-day operational activities for the Mayor's Office, performing communication and community engagement responsibilities, coordination of special events, and providing administrative support for Mayoral appointments to boards and commissions.
Mayor Kim Norton says Rogers’ years of experience and education makes her an asset to the Mayor’s office. “I am excited to have someone with her level of organizational skills and community engagement experience to help assist me in my new role.”
Rogers joins the City of Rochester after serving as an Instructor for 15 years at Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC). She also served in roles at the University of Minnesota Rochester, and Rochester Public Schools prior to her role at RCTC. Rogers has been a long-time community volunteer, providing countless hours in the community.
According to Rogers the new role is one she looks forward to starting. “I appreciate this opportunity to assist Mayor Norton with her goals and initiatives,” she explains, adding, “My commitment to the city is strong and I am eager to serve our community.”
Rogers can be reached via e-mail or by phone at 507-328-2700.
