Rochester Police Department to Participate in Family Promise Dinner at Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizzeria
On December 30, 2019, Rochester Police officers, Family Promise Rochester and Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizzeria will be teaming up to provide three area families with a meal prepared and served by Rochester Police officers.
Each participating family has been working hard to sustain employment and find permanent housing with the assistance of Family Promise. Family Promise Rochester was launched in 1999 as Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Rochester after a group of caring individuals saw the need to provide shelter, meals and comprehensive assistance to homeless families in the area. The nonprofit opened its doors to guests in March of 2001 and relocated to its current location in January of 2003.
Officer Jon Swenson, who is helping to coordinate the dinner, shares, “This is a great opportunity for us to participate in providing the gift of a meal for some local families who are struggling during this holiday season.”
This is a private event. Pasquale’s will not be open to the general public. Officers and representatives from both Family Promise and Pasquale’s will be on site to provide additional comments on December 30. Interested media should arrive at 4 p.m. prior to the meal, which will be served at 5 p.m.
