Building Safety is first of three city departments relocating to new collaborative location
The City of Rochester Building Safety Department will soon be vacating its space on Campus Drive and moving to the newly renovated Development Services & Infrastructure Center (DSIC), located at 4001 West River Parkway NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
Building Safety is the first of the three Development Services & Infrastructure departments to move to the new facility. Teammates from Community Development and Public Works will relocate later this spring or early summer when site improvements and the rest of the parking lot are complete.
To allow Building Safety time to move, the department will close its Campus Drive doors at noon on Thursday, January 30, remain closed all day Friday, January 31, and reopen in the new location at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 3.
Deputy City Administrator Aaron Parrish is eager to see the next phases of Development Services & Infrastructure come to life. “Rochester residents and developers have been asking us for a one-stop development services experience,” he explains. “With these three departments working together under a single roof, we can provide a more seamless approach for customers.”
Parrish also emphasizes the enhanced opportunities for collaboration in the new space. “This physical space allows us to be more intentional and strategic about how to achieve our vision of becoming America’s most innovative development services team.”
