The City of Rochester Public Works team has been busy the last few weeks. They went from removing snow, to clearing storm drains, to filling potholes.

NEWS RELEASE: Traffic Signal Replacement Project Resumes at Broadway Avenue N and Northern Heights Drive NE
Weather permitting, beginning on Wednesday, March 27th and going through the early part of May 2019 Premier Electrical Contractors will resume work on the traffic signal at Broadway Avenue N and Northern Heights Drive NE.
Merit Contracting Co. Inc. will be shifting and restricting traffic along 4th Avenue SW, between 3rd Street and 4th Street SW, beginning on Wednesday, March 20th and going through Friday, April 19th, 2019.
Swenke Ims Contracting is expected to begin work on the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of West Circle Drive and 26th Street NW on April 1, 2019, weather dependent.

9th Avenue SW has been closed from 6th Street SW to 130-feet south of the intersection due to the poor condition of the brick roadway.
Alvin E. Benike Inc. will be periodically closing the North / South alley, located between 2nd Street SW & 3rd Street SW, located East of 2nd Avenue SW to through traffic, to allow for window replacement work on the Franklin Heating Station.
Parks and Recreation teammates will monitor the trails in Rochester. When it becomes safe to reopen them, the City will do so. Communication will be shared at that time.

The dredging of Silver Lake is a significant operation and it was last completed about 25 years ago. As such, the City of Rochester has identified additional improvements that can be done, during the dredging, which would benefit the community’s use of Silver Lake Park.
