The Energy Integration Committee (EIC) plays a key role in advancing the City of Rochester’s energy and climate goals. The Committee includes representatives from the City of Rochester, Destination Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, Minnesota Energy Resources, Olmsted County, Rochester Public Utilities and the University of Minnesota Rochester. Together, this cross-sector group leads energy initiatives that improve building efficiency, expand renewable energy, and support a cleaner, more resilient energy system.

Highlights

Highlights of the EIC’s work to date include:

Launching a building benchmarking program and expanding energy design assistance tools
Accelerating renewable energy procurement and supporting local clean energy development
Supporting EV fleet planning, enhancing electric vehicle codes, and shaping mobility hub design
Improving energy management in City buildings and supporting vendor education
Promoting new incentive and financing tools for commercial energy projects
