Public Sessions Explained

 

 

All Skating Events:

All Schedules Are Subject To Change

 

 

Parent Tot/Adult Ice Skating:

This public skate time is reserved for parents and pre-school children. A child five years of age and under is free with a paying adult. During this time, children are allowed to have sticks and pucks on the ice. Hockey is to be played by the kids not the adults. Very small children cannot be carried on the ice. Parent Tot/Adult Ice Skating is normally held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. during the school year. Please check the website the schedule is subject to change. The Rec Center Staff reserves the right to decide what behavior on the rink is safe and appropriate for all public sessions.

 

Adult Ice Skating:This public skate time is reserved for adult skaters. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in Adult Ice Skating. Adult Ice Skating is normally held Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday night form 9:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.

The Rec Center Staff reserves the right to decide what behavior on the rink is safe and appropriate for all public sessions.

 

 

Open Skate:

This public skate time is reserved for skaters of all ages aka “Open Public Skate”. During Open Ice Skating children 5 and under are free with a paying adult Please see the list of posted rules at rink side. Parents of preschoolers may be on the ice without skates, all other participants must have skates. The Rec Center Staff reserves the right to decide what behavior on the rink is safe and appropriate for all public sessions.

 

Adult Hockey:

Goalies skate for free.  Everyone on the ice needs to sign in at the cashier booth and purchase a ticket. Each player must have their own helmet, skates, gloves and stick.

This is pick up hockey, teams are selected and games are played.

 

Family Hockey:

Everyone on the ice needs to sign in at the cashier booth and purchase a ticket.

Each player must have their own helmet, skates, gloves and stick.

Full equipment is recommended.

Helmets MUST be worn at all times, including the bench area. All participants under the age of 18 must wear a full shield.

Full face shields are strongly recommended.

It is not the responsibility of the rink to provide pucks or equipment.

Be aware of those around you when shooting/skating for a puck.

Goalies play for FREE.

Violation of these rules will result in ejection from the ice with no refund.

 

Open Stick and Puck:

The purpose of Stick and Puck time is to provide players the opportunity to practice things they cannot practice during public skating sessions. This includes basic skating, power skating, stick handling and shooting. Private one on one instruction is allowed, both the student and instructor need to purchase a ticket.

 

 

All Gymnasium Events

Adult Gym:

This public gym time is reserved for adult use only. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in Adult Gym. Adult gym times are listed on the gym schedule. All paying patrons must be given a chance to play in pickup games. Both the east and the west courts of the gym can have pickup games during adult gym time.

 

High School & Adult Gym:

This public gym time is reserved for high school 9th through 12th graders and adults. High school and adult gym is usually held Wednesday night January through February.

 

Open Gym:

This pubic gym session is reserved for all ages. Groups may organize pickup games on the west court. The three remaining baskets on the east court are to stay open for shooting.

 

Family Gym:

This public gym time is reserved for families. The parents have to be in the gym with their children. The adult pays the normal adult fee and the youth or child would pay the student fee. This time can be used by the patrons to play something other than basketball if it doesn’t interfere with any other families’ activities.

 

Elementary Middle School Gym:

This public gym time is reserved for elementary and middle school students. Parents do not have to be present with their kids during this public gym time. Parents/coaches can pay the adult fee and play with their kids/students. No adult full court or cross court games allowed.

Elementary/Middle School gym is usually held on Saturday and Sunday 1-3 p.m.

 

All Swimming Events:

Parent Tot/Adult Swimming:

This public swim time is reserved for parents and preschool children. Adults may also come at this time.  A child five years of age and under is free with a paying adult. The parent must be in the water with their child. Parent Tot/Adult swimming is normally held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. during the school year.

 

Adult Lap Swimming:

This public pool time is reserved for adults only. You must be 18 years of age or older to use the pool during this time. Adult lap swim is listed on the pool schedule.

 

 

Open Lap Swim:

This public lap swim time is open to all ages. You must swim laps. This will be listed on the pool schedule. Two lanes are open in the shallow and two lanes are open in the deep end during this time for open lap swim.

 

Open Swim:

This public swim time is open to all age groups. Life guards will mark off lap lanes for lap swimmers. Non lap swimmers are to stay out of the lap lanes. Open swim times are normally held on Saturday and Sunday.
