Ramp 6 lo

Ramp 6 is one of the most sophisticated parking structures in the Midwest, and represents a significant investment in the public parking assets of Rochester.

The facility, now open since March, is deserving of a better name to help with identifying it to the many groups who will use it. The process is designed to be highly engaging, including this public solicitation for name ideas and the community stakeholders being asked to recommend a final name to City Council.

How will one be chosen?
A committee of downtown stakeholders has been asked to review the submissions and recommend a name to the city council for approval. The following groups are represented on the committee:

  • Rochester Chamber of Commerce
  • Historic Preservation Committee
  • Committee on Urban Design and Environment

The person submitting the selected name will be invited to participate in the ribbon cutting which is scheduled for the summer. They will also receive a one-night stay courtesy of the Hilton Hotel Mayo Clinic Area.
