Mayor Kim Norton Invites Community to America 250 Family-Friendly Bike Parade During Rochesterfest

City of Rochester Mayor Kim Norton invites community members of all ages to join her for the America 250 Family-Friendly Bike Parade on Saturday, June 27, during Rochesterfest. 

The free, family-friendly event is hosted in partnership with  BikeMNWe Bike Rochester and Rochesterfest. It will include bike safety activities, decorating and a fun, community parade with Mayor Norton.  

Event Details  

  • What: America 250 Family-Friendly Bike Parade with Mayor Kim Norton  

  • When: Saturday, June 27, 2026  

    • 10:30 a.m. – Registered riders check in, receive a free bike safety check, ride the obstacle course and decorate bikes 

    • 11:00 a.m. – Non-registered riders arrive 

    • 11:30 a.m. – Bike parade begins, following the Rochesterfest Grand Parade route (approximately 0.6 miles) 

  • Where: Edison Building Parking Lot, 615 7th Street SW, Rochester, MN\  

  • Cost: Free!  

Complimentary bike decorations will be available for the first 250 youth who pre-register, courtesy of the Office of the Mayor as part of Mayor Norton’s Year About Youth 2 initiative. 

“This event is a fun opportunity for families, friends and neighbors to come together, celebrate Rochesterfest and enjoy being active as a community,” said Mayor Norton. “We’re excited to create an experience where youth and families can build confidence riding, learn about bike safety and have fun together.”
