Volleyball (National Volleyball Center)

2601 Viola Road NE, Rochester, MN, 55906

The National Volleyball Center is a multi-use building that is highly tuned for the sport of volleyball. Located adjacent to Century High School, it gives southern Minnesota a sporting complex surpassed by none. The building and equipment are of world-class standards, from the Bio-Cushion II floor to the Olympic-quality lighting. There are eleven courts within the Center, with three additional courts in Century High School.

There is on-court seating for 60 people at each court. Additional spectator areas are available in the upstairs mezzanine. The center court in the High School Gym has seating for 2,000.

From the Twin Cities

Exit off Hwy 52 at the 37th/41st street NW exit. Go straight through the 41st Street light. Take a left at the 37th Street light. Continue on 37th Street for approximately 4.8 miles. You will go straight through 6 sets of stop lights and turn left at the 7th set of stop lights (Viola Road) turn left. You should see the Volleyball center off to your left, it is connected to Century High School.

From South of Rochester

Take Hwy 63 into town until you come to the Hwy 14 East intersection. Take the right-hand exit as you approach this light, as if you were going to Winona. Go straight through 4 sets of lights and turn left at the 5th light (County Road 22). Follow this road for just over 3 miles. Turn right on Viola Road. You will see the National Volleyball Center to your left once you turn at the light; we are attached to Century High School.

NVC PLAYDAYS

Playdays are half-day events that last approximately 6 hours and consist of a round of pool play. Teams are assigned to a pool and will play everyone in that pool. To maintain a competitive format, teams are moved between pools based on their finish in previous events. If a team has not yet played in an event for that season, they will be positioned where the director feels is appropriate. Teams of any affiliation can play in our Playdays.

NVC TOURNAMENTS

These are one-day events with pool play followed by bracket playoffs.  All teams continue into the playoff brackets. Individual medals are awarded in each division. Tournaments usually start at 8am and finish about 5 p.m. Teams of any affiliation can play in our Tournaments.

FROSTBITE FESTIVAL

This is a two-day event hosted by the Rochester Youth Volleyball Association/Southern Minnesota Volleyball. This event is typically held in January. Additional information can be found on the Minnesota's Rochester Sports website.

Prep Dig Minnesota Slam

This is a two-day event hosted by Prep Dig. This event is typically held in February. More information can be found on the Minnesota Slam website.

Hype National Silver Lake Showdown

ODD CUP 

This is a two-day event hosted by the Rochester Youth Volleyball Association/Southern Minnesota Volleyball.  This is a fun event featuring the ODD age groups (13,15, & 17). For further information, visit the Minnesota's Rochester Sports website.

MED-CITY CUP

This is a two-day event hosted by the Rochester Youth Volleyball Association/Southern Minnesota Volleyball. This event is typically held in April. For further information, visit the Minnesota's Rochester Sports website.

ROCHESTER CUP

This is a two-day event with paid-up officials for the entire event. Teams will play two rounds of pool play and then advance to bracket playoffs. The event is held in May and is hosted by the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission. For further information, visit the Minnesota's Rochester Sports website.

Participants must bring clean gym shoes to wear on the courts.

Rochester Youth Volleyball Association (RYVA) organizes and promotes youth volleyball programs for children ages 5-18 in the city of Rochester, Minnesota and the surrounding communities. Southern Minnesota Volleyball (SMV) is the Juniors club affiliated with RYVA.
