First Class City, First Class Services
The Rochester Fire Department (RFD) was established in 1866, making this year our 150th Anniversary. To mark this Sesquicentennial Celebration, RFD will be hosting many events throughout the year.
As the City of Rochester has grown, so too has the fire department. RFD now respond to more than 10,000 calls for service every year. These calls range from structure fires and medical emergencies to specialized technical rescues and hazardous material responses. Rochester has five fire stations staffed 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies.
Your Rochester Fire Department will compassionately solve problems that threaten life, health and property.
RFD is the "Hand to Reach For" because:
- Our Skilled Teams - Equipped with the training and tools to save lives and protect property.
- Our Positive "Can-Do" Attitude - Servant hearts going the extra mile to do what is right.
- Our Compassion - Treating people well is critical and expected.
