City of Rochester Encourages Community Pride Through #RochMNTogether Yard Sign Campaign

The City of Rochester is inviting residents and businesses to show their pride and support a welcoming community through a new yard sign initiative. Free yard signs and window decals featuring the messages “Welcome, You Belong Here” and “Building Community, All People at a Time” will be available while supplies last (1,000 total).

Signs can be picked up at the following locations:

  • Rochester City Hall – 201 4th Street SE (Yard Signs & Window Decals)

  • Rochester Public Library – 101 2nd Street SE (Yard Signs & Window Decals)

  • Rochester Public Utilities – 4000 East River Road NE

  • Development Services and Infrastructure Center (DSIC) – 4001 West River Pkwy NW

This initiative is part of the Mayor and City Council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen awareness, connection, and trust across the community. Grounded in the City’s Foundational Principles of inclusive decision-making and social equity, it reflects a continued focus on ensuring all people feel seen, heard, and valued, and on building a more accessible and approachable local government.

Rochester residents help shape this community daily, one defined by how we treat one another and show up for our neighbors. That same spirit extends to the more than 3 million visitors who come to Rochester each year from across the United States and around the world, many seeking care, support, and connection.

“Rochester is a city that cares, and where neighbors help neighbors,” said City Administrator Alison Zelms. “This is about how we show up for one another and take pride in our community. Small actions like this help reinforce a shared message: in Rochester, everyone has a place.”

The City encourages signs to be displayed in yards*, windows, or businesses as a visible reminder of community pride. Photos can be shared on social media, using the hashtag #RochMNTogether to help spread the message across Rochester.

*Signs should be placed on private property. They may not be placed in the public Right-of-Way, which includes the area between the street and the sidewalk known as the boulevard.
