Construction Begins on Silver Lake Skate Park
Construction has begun on improvements to the Silver Lake Skate Park.
The work includes new skate features in the southwest corner of the park, including quarter-pipe ramps, rails and hubbas, which are raised ledges used by skaters. A turnaround bank, which allows skaters to change direction and continue through the park, will also be added on the north side.
The two construction areas will be fenced off while work is underway, but most of the skate park will remain open for use.
Work will continue through the end of the fall construction season and will resume in spring 2027. The project is expected to be completed by mid-summer 2027.
The skate park expansion is part of the first phase of projects included in the 2023 Silver Lake Master Plan. Other projects include the new pool and splash pad, new playground, basketball court and shelter renovations.
Phase one improvements total approximately $10.5 million and are primarily funded through the 2020 Park Referendum, City Council allocations and grants.
