Help Create a Public Poem for New 19th Avenue Link Station
July 15, 2026 – Rochester, MN – The City of Rochester encourages residents to help shape a new station enhancement that will become part of the everyday experience for Link Bus Rapid Transit riders for years to come. As part of the 19th Avenue Eastbound Station enhancements for Link Bus Rapid Transit, community members are invited to contribute a line to a collaborative station enhancement titled Every Day Analemma.
The installation will feature a community-generated poem printed directly onto the station’s glass panels, creating a welcoming, meaningful and distinctly local element along the Link corridor. Developed in partnership with the local designer Eric Anderson, the enhancement will be shaped by the voices, routines and small moments shared by residents.
Participating is simple. Residents are invited to respond to the prompt: “Every day I…”
Responses may reflect a daily habit, a small moment of joy, a personal ritual, a thought, or an ordinary experience that feels quietly meaningful. All submissions will remain anonymous and while not all responses will appear in the final poem, each contributes to the creative process. To ensure broad representation, entries are welcome in all languages spoken in our community.
“There is something incredibly meaningful about inviting residents to contribute their own words to a public space that people will use every day. This project gives our community a unique opportunity to help shape the look and feel of the Link station, and we appreciate everyone who takes the time to help bring this designer’s vision to life in such a real and locally focused way,’ shares Josh DeFrang, Senior Project Manager, with the City of Rochester.
Every Day Analemma is designed to reflect the rhythm and variety of everyday life in Rochester. Through shared contributions from residents, the piece brings individual stories together into a single enhancement that riders will encounter daily at the 19th Avenue Station.
