Mayor Norton Invites Nominations for 2026 Mayor’s Medal of Honor
Rochester Mayor Kim Norton is seeking nominations for the 2026 Mayor’s Medal of Honor, which recognizes residents who have gone above and beyond to serve the Rochester community.
Now in its 43rd year, the Mayor’s Medal of Honor recognizes individuals across 14 categories, including Community-Wide Service, Champion of Diversity, Heroism, Sustainability, Excellence in Industry and Youth Serving Community. A full list of categories is available on the City’s website.
Nominations are due Oct. 31. Selected recipients will be honored at a luncheon in early December.
“The Mayor’s Medal of Honor is an opportunity to recognize the people who make Rochester a stronger, more caring and connected community,” Norton said. “As I prepare to present these awards for the final time as mayor, I am especially grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the people who give their time, talents and energy to make a difference in the lives of others. I encourage residents to think about someone whose contributions deserve to be recognized and take a few minutes to nominate them.”
How to Submit a Nomination
Nominators must complete a brief online form, which includes providing up to 400 words describing why the individual deserves the award. Nominations must be submitted by Oct. 31.
More information, including award categories and the online nomination form, is available on the City’s website. Questions can be directed to Michon Rogers in the Mayor’s Office at 507-328-2701 or mrogers@rochestermn.gov.
