Pedal Into Summer: Bike to Work (or Anywhere!) Day Returns June 23

May 27, 2026 – ROCHESTER, MINN. – Join the City of Rochester in celebrating Bike to Work (or Anywhere!) Day on Tuesday, June 23 from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Other partners collaborating on this event include the Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency, Olmsted County, Mayo Clinic and Rochester Public Schools.

The City invites all residents to bike to work, run errands or simply enjoy a morning ride as a way to support a healthy, active lifestyle and strengthen Rochester’s vibrant biking community. Whether commuting to an office, working from home, retired or just curious about biking, everyone is welcome to participate.

This year, the City is piloting group rides to make commuting more approachable and flexible. Participating in group rides gives you the opportunity to meet other ‘bike buddies’ who can make your commute enjoyable, comfortable and lead you in a safe route.

Participants in group rides will meet at one of four breakfast stations, each located in a different quadrant outside of downtown Rochester. Anybody participating in Bike to Work Day, either individually or through a group ride, is welcome to stop at these four stations. Mayo Clinic will also host five morning stations outside its secure bike rooms for downtown commuters. Attendees will enjoy free food, giveaways and bike safety gear while connecting with fellow riders. Station locations and additional information can be found on the event webpage. Those interested in participating in a group ride are encouraged to register in advance.

Bike to Work (or Anywhere!) Day reflects Rochester’s commitment to making biking accessible, fun and inclusive. Through this event, the City aims to encourage biking as part of a daily, healthy lifestyle, welcome and support new bicycle commuters, and promote opportunities for a safe and connected cycling network. All of this supports the City's adopted mode shift goals, which seek to reduce single-occupancy vehicle commuting to downtown Rochester from approximately 70% of trips to 50% by increasing walking, biking, transit and carpooling options.
