Registration Open for Rochester's 2026 Disability Summit

Community members are invited to attend the 2nd annual Disability Summit, "The Future is Accessible: Innovation in Disability Policy," on Friday, July 24, at the Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) Heintz Center. 

Hosted by the Accessibility Community Action Group, the summit will feature discussions focused on youth with disabilities and aging with disabilities. The event is open to everyone, including people with disabilities, family members, caregivers, advocates, service providers and community members interested in accessibility and inclusion.

  • Date: Friday, July 24, 2026 

  • Time: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m.) 

  • Location: Commons at the RCTC Heintz Center, 1926 Collegeview Road SE 

  • Suggested parking: West parking lot adjacent to 19th Ave SE 

  • Suggested entrance: Door H14 

  • Virtual attendance information will be provided after registration 

Schedule 

  • 9 to 10:30 a.m. — Youth with disabilities panel 

  • 10:30 to 11 a.m. — Break and refreshments 

  • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Aging with disabilities panel 

To support an inclusive experience, the event will offer a sensory room, Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) captioning, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and additional accessibility accommodations. To maximize accessibility for all participants, attendees are asked to avoid wearing products containing synthetic fragrances, including perfume, cologne, aftershave, scented lotions and sprays.
