Rochester City Council President Randy Schubring Appointed to League of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors
Rochester City Council President Randy Schubring has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) Board of Directors.
LMC is a membership association made up of over 840 cities of all sizes from around the state that serves Minnesota cities through advocacy, education and training, policy development, risk management, and other services. The League is governed by a Board of Directors made up of local elected officials and appointed city administrators and managers from across the state.
Schubring’s appointment provides Rochester with continued representation in statewide conversations about the opportunities, challenges, and shared priorities facing Minnesota cities.
“Rochester has long valued the work of the LMC and the important role it plays in supporting strong, effective local government,” said Schubring. “I am honored to serve in this capacity and look forward to working alongside colleagues from across Minnesota to support cities of all sizes and the residents they serve.”
Rochester has a long history of City elected officials and staff participating in League of Minnesota Cities committees, policy work, educational opportunities, and other statewide leadership efforts. In addition to Schubring’s appointment to the League Board of Directors, Rochester City Administrator Alison Zelms currently serves as Chair of the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT) Board of Trustees. The LMCIT Board of Trustees is appointed by the League Board of Directors and oversees the work of the League’s member-owned insurance trust. These connections help ensure Rochester remains engaged in conversations that shape the future of local government in Minnesota.
“The League provides an important forum for cities to learn from one another, advocate together, and strengthen the services we provide to our communities,” Schubring said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Rochester and contribute to that work over the next three years.”
Council President Schubring was appointed during the LMC Annual Conference that was held in Rochester this past week. LMC promotes excellence in local government through effective advocacy, expert analysis, and trusted guidance for all Minnesota cities.
