Rochester Fireworks Take Two: Show Rescheduled for Sept. 4

The City of Rochester invites the community back to Soldiers Field Memorial Park on Friday, Sept. 4, for the full fireworks show residents were expecting on July 4. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is Saturday, Sept. 5. Additional event details, including the start time, will be shared as they become available.

The City recognizes the disappointment many residents and visitors experienced when the July 4 fireworks display ended prematurely and appreciates the community's patience as plans for a replacement show were finalized. Fireworks vendor J&M Displays Inc. has committed to providing the replacement display at no cost to the City.

"While we can't change what happened on July 4, we can honor our commitment to the community by providing the fireworks show people expected," said Jenna Bowman, Strategic Communications & Engagement Director. "We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Sept. 4 for a night of celebration and giving our community the experience it deserves."

The City has developed a communication plan for the event to help ensure attendees receive timely information if weather or other circumstances affect the fireworks display. Information will be provided through additional channels, and more information will be shared ahead of the event to ensure attendees know how to stay informed.
