RPT Driver Earns 2nd Place at Minnesota’s 39th Annual Statewide Bus Roadeo
July 24, 2026 – ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA – Rochester Public Transit (RPT) is proud to recognize bus operator Chris Daniels for earning 2nd place in the Large Bus category at Minnesota’s 39th Annual Statewide Bus Roadeo, held Saturday, July 18, at the Carver Park & Ride in Carver, Minnesota.
Hosted by the Minnesota Public Transit Association, the annual Bus Roadeo brings together the state’s top bus operators and maintenance professionals to strengthen safety practices, build new skills and celebrate excellence in public transportation. Competitors navigate a demanding obstacle course and demonstrate critical safety procedures, showcasing the high level of professionalism found across Minnesota’s transit systems.
Celebrating a Proven Leader in Transit Excellence
This year’s strong finish adds to Daniels’ well-established record of achievement. A 32 year RPT veteran and longtime competitor, Daniels recently secured the top spot in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo, however he has been a frequent driver to the podium since he started competing in 2013. That win followed a three part challenge that tested operators on obstacle navigation, vehicle inspection, and proper loading and securing of a passenger using a wheelchair.
Daniels’ continued success reflects his dedication to safety, skill and service — qualities that strengthen RPT’s commitment to providing reliable and professional transit for the Rochester community.
Rochester Public Transit congratulates Chris on his outstanding performance and thanks the Minnesota Public Transit Association for hosting an event that highlights and celebrates the work of Minnesota’s transit professionals.
