Temporary Closures Begin July 6 at Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park

Beginning Monday, July 6, the playground and basketball courts at Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park will be fenced off and closed through the fall as construction gets underway.

The park's disc golf course will also be affected. The tees at hole No. 3 will be removed beginning July 6, resulting in changes to the course during construction.

This work is part of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park enhancement project, which will improve one of Rochester's most popular parks by upgrading existing amenities and adding new features, including restrooms and a splash pad. The project also includes expanded and improved basketball courts, a new playground, enhanced picnic shelters and expanded community gardens.

Visitors are encouraged to use caution around the construction area and follow all posted closures. The City appreciates the public's patience as these improvements are completed.
