Lead Hazard Reduction & Healthy Homes

Funding is available through the Minnesota Department of Health for addressing lead-based paint hazards in homes. The Lead Hazard Reduction & Healthy Homes Program offers grants of up to $21,500 to qualifying homeowners and rental property owners of buildings constructed before 1978. To qualify, occupants must meet income guidelines, and for owner-occupied properties, a child under the age of six must reside in or regularly visit the home.

The program aims to protect children under six from lead poisoning by identifying and mitigating lead-based paint hazards in homes throughout Rochester.
