Rochester Public Transit (RPT) is proud to recognize bus operator Chris Daniels for earning 2nd place in the Large Bus category at Minnesota’s 39th Annual Statewide Bus Roadeo, held Saturday, July 18, at the Carver Park & Ride in Carver, Minnesota.

The McQuillan Splash Pad will open Saturday, July 25. Final inspections have been completed, and the City looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors to Rochester's newest splash pad.

Routes 21, 102 and 116 will be detoured off East Center Street from July 29 through Sept. 3 due to construction.

Routes 550 and 203 will serve the RCTC West Lot as an alternative Park & Ride location while the fair is underway.

In accordance with Minnesota’s Community Notification Act, the Rochester Police Department is releasing information regarding Robert Martinez, a risk Level 3 registrant on the predatory offender registry.

The Armory Lot and the Power Plant Lot will be closed from Friday, July 24 through Thursday, July 30. 

July 20, 2026 – ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA – With summertime bringing an increase in recreational vehicle use, the City of Rochester is reminding residents of the existing parking and storage regulations of recreational vehicles, boats, trailers and similar equipment.

Key reminders include:

• Recreational vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to “RVs”, travel trailers, truck campers, camping trailers and self‑propelled motor homes, over 23 feet in length may not be parked on public streets for more than one hour. Recreational vehicles under 23 feet can be parked on the street for up to 24 hours.
• Recreational vehicles and equipment must be parked on a hard surface, not in front yards or unpaved areas.
• Recreational vehicles or equipment longer than 18 feet or taller than 7 feet must be parked at least 20 feet back from the curb when stored on a driveway.

Residents should also know that parking and storage is always permitted within an enclosed structure or in the rear yard.

RVs parked on the road can stop maintenance crews from performing routine work like sweeping or repairs which can slow down neighborhood and street upkeep.

These standards help improve neighborhood traffic safety, street visibility and overall property condition and value throughout the community.

Guidance on recreational vehicle parking and storage is outlined in the both the Unified Development Code (Section 60.300.020G Accessory Uses and Structures page 142) and Rochester City Code of Ordinances Sec. 11-6-23.
