To honor Public Works Week, the City Hall dome will be lit orange on Wednesday, May 20.

Proactive enforcement by Rochester Police Department’s Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU), Special Enforcement Team (SET) and K9 Unit resulted in the arrests of two people and the seizure of methamphetamine.

The City Hall dome lights will be lit green on Wednesday, May 13 in honor of Building Safety Month.  

Rochester Public Music announces the 2026 FORWARD Concert Series, a free summer series bringing live music to neighborhood parks across Rochester. FORWARD returns on select Wednesday evenings in June and August, with performances rotating through parks in different parts of the city. 

Wednesday, May 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Elton Hills Elementary School 

West Center Street will be completely closed from Broadway Avenue to 1st Avenue NW. 

The closure is expected to last three weeks, depending on weather conditions. 

The City of Rochester is inviting residents interested in serving their community to consider running for local office. To support prospective candidates, the City will host a Candidate Information Session at City Hall in Conference Room 104 on May 26 at 6 p.m. 

This summer, the City of Rochester Parks & Recreation Department encourages residents to take part in Slow Mow Summer, an initiative promoting a more sustainable approach to lawn care that supports pollinators and healthier lawns. 

The Chateau skyway will be temporarily closed May 5 to 7. This closure allows for necessary ceiling repairs and upgrades to take place. During this time, pedestrian access through the skyway will not be available. 

Rochester Mayor Kim Norton, in partnership with Rochester Public Utilities (RPU), will host a public Town Hall on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, focused on community questions related to water and electric utility services. Mayor Norton will be joined by RPU General Manager Tim McCollough.
