City of Rochester Mayor Kim Norton invites community members of all ages to join her for the America 250 Family-Friendly Bike Parade on Saturday, June 27, during Rochesterfest. 

The Chateau skyway will be temporarily closed May 5 to 7. This closure allows for necessary ceiling repairs and upgrades to take place. During this time, pedestrian access through the skyway will not be available. 

Rochester Mayor Kim Norton, in partnership with Rochester Public Utilities (RPU), will host a public Town Hall on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, focused on community questions related to water and electric utility services. Mayor Norton will be joined by RPU General Manager Tim McCollough. 

Construction activity will expand west along 2nd Street SW to 14th Avenue SW beginning Monday, May 4. General traffic will be detoured around the construction area, with access to the hospital from 14th Avenue SW. Emergency vehicles will continue to have full access to the hospital from 2nd Street SW.

The initiative aims to return underutilized City-owned land to productive private ownership while advancing housing and neighborhood stability goals.

Lime e-scooters and e-bicycles will return to Rochester beginning April 13, supporting short trips and connections across the community. As part of the seasonal micromobility launch, the City is also sharing a short set of shared-space courtesy reminders for all path and sidewalk users.

The City of Rochester (rochestermn.gov) and Rochester Public Library (rplmn.org) are excited to announce their new websites, designed to make it easier for people to find information, use online services and stay connected.  

The Link Bus Rapid Transit project continues to advance toward a major milestone in Rochester’s transportation future. Significant progress was made throughout last construction season and work continued steadily over the winter, bringing the project to 30% completion and preparing the corridor for an even more active year ahead. As crews ramp up with spring weather, the project remains on track for its first Link rides to begin in Fall 2027, bringing faster, fare-free and environmentally sustainable transit service to residents, employees and visitors along the corridor.
