Benefits

Employees matter at the City of Rochester. We strive to attract, motivate and retain the best and brightest teammates. We provide a number of competitive benefits, including compensation and health insurance, as well as professional development, work-life balance and a number of other intangible benefits.

City Benefits Overview

The City of Rochester offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.  The benefits include medical, dental, life and long-term disability coverage. A pension plan, deferred compensation programs, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and an employee assistance program round out the City's benefit package. Additionally, the City has competitive provisions for vacation, holidays, sick and other types of paid and unpaid leaves.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

PSLF forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after an individual has made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a government organization.

Employee Assistant Program (EAP)

A free and confidential service, the EAP provides support and resources to employees and their household members. EAP services include four free counseling sessions, as well as family, career, health and financial resources.

Please note that coverage and/or participation in most City benefits is not automatic. You must take certain actions to participate. Benefits are based on collective bargaining agreements and/or City Organizational Policies. It is important to familiarize yourself with the various options and enroll in those that best fit your needs.

You will have an opportunity to change health, dental, life, long-term disability and flexible spending account benefit plan choices once per year during the annual fall open enrollment period. You may only make a mid-year change if you experience a qualifying life event (e.g. marriage, divorce, birth or adoption, etc.).
