Natural Area Management Plan
The City of Rochester’s Parks and Recreation Division of Forestry is responsible for maintaining over 115 public parks and over 3500 acres of public parkland. Nearly 1500 acres of that land are considered to be natural areas. In 2019, the City’s Division of Forestry began to pursue a goal of creating a Natural Areas Management Plan. The purpose of this plan is to provide a framework for City staff on how to prioritize and effectively perform management activities across the City’s public natural areas.
On January 17, 2023, the Park Board approved the Natural Area Management Plan.
