- Food vouchers distributed to low-income families
- Vouchers are redeemable at The Village farmer's markets, and increase in value when patrons walk, bike, trike, shuffle or dance to the market, OR participate in an on-site fitness activity.
- Excess food will be purchased from market farmers and distributed to food-insecure families, through trusted community partners.
Move to the Market
The City of Rochester was awarded a $50,000 grant at the United States Conference of Mayors for a "Move to the Market" partnership initiative. The funds from the American Beverage Association will support The Village Agricultural Cooperative and their effort to support small local farmers, create new farmers' markets, and improve the health of area residents in creative ways.
Events are happening from June 7 to October 13, at The Village Global Farmers Markets:
- Sundays, 2 - 6 p.m., MLK Park (1738 E Center St., Rochester, MN 55904)
- Tuesdays, 4 - 7 p.m., Cascade Lake Park (88 23rd Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902)
